Dream, or Prescience?

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 3, 2008, 12:31 PM
When I was young I had a dream (among many):

I stood upon a precipace which looked out over the earth. The wind blew my hair, and my large black overcoat flapped widely in it. I became aware of the multitudes of the earth lined up on either side of me, and as I turned to address them, I realized I was bound in wire. From head to foot I was bound. The piano wire which bound me, cutting into my skin as I tried to move. I looked back over the precipice, and could see a dark storm rising from the east. It was at this point that every person on the earth, which were still lined up on either side of me began to point, and laugh. At me.

It was made clear to me in this dream, that as an artist, I would never be understood.

This may be goodbye. I am not sure. I am just very disappointed by everything right now. I feel as if I have been lied to, and made fun of too many times.

Thank you Pepelepewissexier for featuring this animation in your stamp collection! :D

I really have nothing else to say at this time. :D

Please know that I am VERY busy right now with publication projects, and deadlines. I appreciate all the page views, and comments. I may not be able to respond to them all personally, however I thank you very much for your support and words. :D

I am called "the Dragonbrusher" because that is how I began. Airbrushing fantasy creatures on T-shirts, automobiles, anything possible! Over the year's I have done many illustrations for book covers, interior art, and my "fine art" has been in galleries throughout the United States, and Hawaii.

I now do a lot of digital illustration work, although I will still pick up the airbrush, or brush oil on canvas from time to time. I used to be a "purist" and did fight against doing digital work for many years.

However, I realized that the computer is just another art tool.

Thank you to :iconthebigbadfish: for taking the time to do this interview of me for a news story! :D

Let's see wildlife!

July 12 is my birthday! Yup, the indomitable dragonbrusher is soon to be a year older! So to celebrate let's have a contest!

Do a picture of a dragon in any medium. However, since I was born under the sign of the dragon in chinese calander, and the family legend (of my family who are imigrants of Budapest, Hungary) is that we are somehow related to Vlad Tepes, I would love to see a dragon picture with the elements in it which would describe me.

Example: July birthstone is the ruby, so a red dragon with a ruby jewel of some kind. Or perhaps Vlad standing next to a dragon, or................well, you figure it out, and surprise me! :D

The contest will end on July 2, 2008.

The prize(s)

1) first prize=a six month subscription, feature in my journal for the month of July, and a feature page on my website for the month of July!

second prize=three month subscription, and feature in my journal for the month of July!

third prize=one month subscription and feature in my journal for the month of July!

I will also write a news article and feature the best fourty-four entries in it!

Hehe, I suppose now you will know how old I am going to be! Anyway, get to painting, drawing, photomanipulating, or however you create art!

Here is the link to submit your entry to: [link]

Be original and have fun!

Doe's anyone read the descriptions?!

I am honestly disapointed! I do not think that anyone reads anymore. Here is why:

In my "dragon birthday contest" (posted above) I have some very clear instructions, yet I have people posting dragons that they have drawn or painted years ago, and have absolutely nothing to do with the contest besides the fact of a dragon being in the drawing/painting. While those drawings/paintings may be cool, they do not even come close to the posted goal(s) of the contest.

Also, when I am posting a new deviation, I (usually) post in the artist comments block that the recent deviation was produced for this publisher, or that publisher, and I may even submit a link to the site where the illustration is being published to, or through. And yet I have people sending me notes asking if I do this artwork for myself (as a hobby) or what? To which I reply that "Yes, I am a proffessional illustrator and I get paid to produce the artwork that I produce." Which if they just read the artist comments in the first place they would know this.

OMG! READ THE DESCRIPTIONS?COMMENTS PEOPLE!!!

The people who should have won Okami

Journal Entry: Tue May 6, 2008, 9:21 AM

The people who should have won the Okami contest are:

EXACTLY WHO THE JUDGES SAY ARE THE WINNERS!

I know that there is some controversy about the rules of the contest, and etc. There are many comments posted (I posted a couple also, so no, I am not a hypocryte!) however, the fact is this:

This was a contest which was judged by a panel of artist's who believed that the artwork they chose to win did in some way exhibit the best rendition(s), capture the spirit, and somehow illustrated the idea of the contest. Perhaps others can not see it as much, however, who is to judge? Except for the judges of the contest.

When we run our personal contest's, we have the right to pick what we think is the best artwork to embody the spirit of our contest's, therefore the judge's of the Okami contest should also have the same respect concerning the contest they ran and judged.

Congrats to the winner's!!
well done

A HUGE THANK YOU!

:iconcsnyder:

To =CSnyder!

He has been my most loyal, and greatest supporter on deviantArt!

Here is why:

He fav'd and commented on the very first painting I submitted here on dA, literally ten seconds after I posted it! He has also taken the time to comment and fave so much of the work I have posted here! Also, when I submitted my news article, within seconds of it's posting he had given it a "thumbs up" and had it put on his page!

He doe's this even though he is watching 600+ other deviants!

It is people like this who give me hope for the world! Thank you so much =CSnyder! I wish there were some way that I could thank you, because words are not enough for such loyal support! :D

To everyone else who comments, and looks/watche's, and etc.
